It’s nesting time again soon and if you want to get any birds to nest in your boxes they must be up before the end of February, so get a move on. Birds will only nest in places they are familiar with so to have any chance of lodgers in nest boxes this summer they must be put up so the birds become used to them being there before it’s time to nest. The picture above is of a communal nest box I built for a family of tree sparrows that have been nesting at my home for many years.
